Overflow Grating — frequently asked questions

Which grating width and height do I need?

Match the grating to the channel mouth: the 240 mm-wide, 23 mm-high profile (BS EN 13451 compliant) covers standard overflow channels, and the 245 mm-wide, 22 mm-high profile is the single-spine alternative. Both are supplied per metre (47 or 42 pieces) and follow any curved pool or spa shape through a single connection.

Which colours are available?

White, off-white, blue, yellow and navy, in UV-protected polypropylene with an anti-slip surface. Colour is chosen to match the tile line; it does not change the hydraulic capacity.

How many gutter drains does the channel need?

Space the GD-1 drains (63 mm solvent-weld pipe) along the channel so no run of gutter is more than a few metres from an outlet, and size the pipe runs to the balance tank for the full skimming flow. Our engineers lay out the drains from your pool plan when you request a quotation.

What is the frame-and-grate floor drain for?

The FG-1 (9" × 9") and FG-2 heavy-duty ABS floor drains serve as main drain covers in concrete pools and as floor outlets in balance tanks, plant rooms and deck areas. The frame is cast into the concrete and the grate drops in flush, so it lifts out for cleaning without tools.
